What’s Up to air on MBN

What can I say, but… FINALLY?!

Okay, I guess I can say some more.

What’s Up had been hanging on limbo for almost two years now when it failed to secure a time slot with any broadcasting station, despite having completed filming back in February. But ’tis no more, for it has finally secured an agreement to air on the soon-to-be started-up cable channel MBN, which will open its door in December. Although they have yet to secure an exact time slot, the drama production announced that that talk will be completed by mid-November as well. (*knock on wood*)

Starring Im Joo Hwan (Tamra Island), Im Joo Eun (Hon), Big Bang’s Daesung (musical Cats), Jang Hee Jin (Myung Wol the Spy), Lee Soo Hyuk (White Christmas), Jeon Hye Jin (Smile You), and Oh Man Seok (Warrior Baek Dong-soo), What’s Up is described as a youth musical drama about the dreams and the love stories of young college students attending the musical department of a university. It’s penned by acclaimed scriptwriter, Song Ji Na, who wrote hit dramas like Eyes of Dawn, Sandglass, and Legend, which makes its difficulty to secure a broadcasting station and a time slot that much more bizarre, despite the rookie cast.

The news of the drama’s premiere is also making the headlines because it will be Daesung’s first “tv comeback” since his tragic car accident earlier in May.
